Touching lives one stitch at a time, the Hugs Ministry hand-makes quilts for individuals who are going through difficult times. It is the labor of love and prayer that goes into each quilt that makes it special. A cross is placed on the back of each quilt to remind its recipient of the sacrifice God made on Calvary just for them. In quilting, thread holds the layers of fabric together just as God holds our life together.

  • Safe Families
    • Safe Families for Children expands the community safety net by providing parents in need with mentoring relationships and tangible support in times of crisis. Safe Families for Children believes children will be safe and well-cared for if families in crisis have a network of support.

Volunteer families, prompted, solely by compassion, build relationships with at-risk families and can open their homes to children. This allows parents to have the time and space to work out their problems without having to worry about losing parental custody. The process of becoming a Host Family varies depending on your level of involvement. For those opening their home to a child the process would include an application, a home visit, ongoing training, and a background check. In total, you can expect the process to take about 2 months before you would be contacted to have a child stay in your home.

Churches provide a vital role in our community of caregivers offering support and resources to families. The process of launching a SFFC ministry in your church is simple and will add a sense of richness and relevance to your community of faith as you reach out with kindness for those who need it most.
