ADOPT-A-BLOCK

EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS FOR CHANGE, AND THEREBY TRANSFORMING THEIR COMMUNITY
 

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
Adopt a Block has the capacity for unlimited volunteers who are grouped into teams of 4-7 and assigned a Team Leader. There are no specialized skills required; just being able to
love on families!

VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Teams meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month to build relationships with families who live in Lonsdale community.

THE CREW

SHOWING GOD’S LOVE IN PRACTICAL WAYS BY
PROVIDING REPAIRS FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT
HAVE THE ABILITY OR RESOURCES TO MAINTAIN OR REPAIR THEIR HOMES.

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
The Crew has the capacity for unlimited volunteers who serve on an as needed and rotational basis. General carpentry and
construction skills are handy, but not required.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Ministry team meets as needs arise, and projects vary in length and complexity.

 

 

FOOD FOR KIDS

PROVIDE FOOD FOR STUDENTS OF LONSDALE, INSKIP AND AMHERST ELEMENTARY 
 

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
Food For Kids has the capacity for additional volunteers to serve as the ministry expands into new areas. No specialized skills are necessary; simply loving on people!

VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Ministry team serves the local elementary schools.

 

FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION

CARING FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE CHOSEN
ADOPTION, FOSTER CARE, OR RESPITE CARE
BY ENCOURAGING, ASSISTING, AND PROVIDING DONATIONS.

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
Our Foster care and Adoption Ministry cares for the families who have chosen adoption, foster or respite care by praying for, serving, or providing donations to provide encouragement. They organize a donation drive to collect bags for Knox County area children that are placed in safe care.   

VOLUNTEER NEEDS

Volunteers serve on an as needed basis to organize training, donation drives, resource center, and events to raise awareness of the orphan and foster care crisis

 

 

MISSION OF HOPE

DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS WITH ELEMENTARY
SCHOOLS IN APPALACHIA, KY IN ORDER TO
DEMONSTRATE LOVE AND SHARE THE GOSPEL
WITH THE STUDENTS AND STAFF WHO
WORK THERE.

 

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
Mission of Hope ministry has the capacity for unlimited volunteers who provide donations, and/or serve the children and staff during one-day service trips to the elementary
schools in KY.

 

VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Volunteers are needed three times per year; back to school, Christmas and end of school to donate and deliver items to the schools.

 

 

SENIOR CARE

DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE RESIDENTS, PRIMARILY ELDERLY AND WIDOWED, WHO LIVE IN THE NEARBY WILLOW PLACE, RIVERBIRCH VILLAGE AND AUTUMN CARE RESIDENTIAL FACILITY.
 
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
The Senior Care Ministry has the capacity for additional volunteers who desire to build lasting relationships with the residents at the Willow Place,  Riverbirch Village and Autumn Care Residential Facility.
 
VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Volunteers serve at various and random times throughout the month.
 

KIDS HOPE: LONSDALE

DEVELOP A ONE-ON-ONE RELATIONSHIP

BETWEEN GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH AND LONSDALE ELEMENTARY TO CREATE A PARTNERSHIP THAT PAIRS TRAINED MEMBERS
WITH AT-RISK STUDENTS.
 

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION Kids Hope Ministry has the capacity for an unlimited number of volunteers who meet with their mentee to encourage, talk, play, and provide educational assistance. VOLUNTEER NEEDS Volunteers are screened and submit to an application, history check, and personal interview before being assigned
